5K Freedom Run

June 21, 2012

DESCRIPTION and BENEFACTORS:

Our annual 5K Freedom Run is the preeminent 5K race in Tooele County. It’s also our single largest fundraiser for the year.

Proceeds from the 5K Freedom Run go towards our support of the Babycare Cupboard within the Tooele County Food Bank, Head Start, Children’s Health-Connection Fair, prizes and associated costs for our annual “Golden Rule” essay contest for 5th graders in our countywide school district, and other projects that serve the needs of children. We also give funds throughout the year to the Milk for Kids program, homeless programs, youth leadership programs in our area schools, among other deserving causes.

None of the income from the 5K Freedom Run goes towards the administrative costs of our club! We are self-sustaining through our dues.

SPONSORS:

We’d like to sincerely thank the following sponsors. Without their generous support, we couldn’t afford to put this race on each year! Please consider your patronage and support for them. Their willingness to give back to their community is what makes our charity throughout the year possible:

***NO REFUNDS will be given for tardy arrivals.***

REGISTRATION & CHECK-IN:

Registration is now entirely online and can be done from May 16th until the night before the race.

There are different pricing levels, so register early for the best price. In order to encourage more accurate numbers for our suppliers, vendors, and T-shirt printing, we offer greater discounts the earlier one registers! Prices will increase as we get closer to our printing deadlines - so hurry! A limited amount of “Last Chance” tickets will be available.

This year, we’re also lowering our prices for children (12 and Under)!

Onsite registration will be available the morning of the race, but NO CASH will be accepted. Onsite registration will be entirely online and two computers will be made available for registration on a first-come-first-served basis, beginning at 6:30AM. The registration process takes about 5-10 minutes. Absolutely NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER 7:30AM.

***While every effort will be made to have the onsite registration computers set-up and properly connected to the Internet/Eventbrite.com, we offer no guarantee that the process on the morning of the event will be without hiccups and/or issues, so you are strongly advised to register prior to the day of the event!***

Check-in will also begin promptly at 7:30am the morning of the event at the course start-line (see below). Those who have registered will be checked-in by either showing their valid picture ID or by presenting their Eventbrite.com printed registration/ticket with barcode, which is preferred.

The race will begin at the LDS/Mormon chapel at 777 East Skyline Drive, Tooele UT. The course then runs west along Skyline to 7th Street, then north to 2nd South, then west to Main Street, then north to 4th North, then west to 2nd West, then turning south, until the finish-line at the corner of 2nd West and Vine Street (Corner of the City Park and Pratt Aquatic Center).

AWARDS and SWAG:

Each “Early Bird” and “Standard” ticket holder will receive an event T-shirt. “Last Chance” ticket holders will not be guaranteed an event T-shirt, as a limited quantity of extras will be included in our order with our vendor weeks prior to the event.
